Female Labour Service of RAD

The Female Labour Service of RAD • Ansichtskarte Weiblicher Reichsarbeitsdienst ‟Hanz Retzlaff Reichsarbeitsdienst für die weibliche Jugend”

RAD stands for Reichsarbeitsdienst, which was the name of the National Labour Service in Nazi Germany. The RAD was a paramilitary organisation that aimed to reduce unemployment, militarise the workforce and indoctrinate the workforce with Nazi ideology. The RAD was established in 1933 after Hitler passed the Unemployment Relief Act. It was initially voluntary, but in 1935 the Reich Labour Service Act made it compulsory for men between the ages of 18 and 25 to participate.
